The Derbyshire Dales Bus & Train Festival
The 2024 event will be on: Fathers Day, 16th of June
The first Derbyshire Dales Bus & Train Festival was held on Fathers Day, 18th of June 2023. The event proved very popular with members of the public and enthusiasts alike. We had nearly 40 buses and coaches in attendance with over 20 of those in service on the free bus runs. There was also an hourly steam train service put on by Peak Rail as well as the Fathers Day Wee Dram Whisky Tasting Train. The event is returning on the 16th June 2024.
The free bus services operated throughout the day were:
The Bakewell Flyer: Rowsley South Stn – Bakewell – Rowsley South Stn
The Chatsworth Tour: Rowsley South Stn – Bakewell (via the Chatsworth Estate and Pilsley) – Rowsley South Stn (return via Bakewell Flyer route)
The Darley Dale Connection: Rowsley South Stn – Darley Dale Station – Rowsley South Stn
The routes for the 2024 event will likely be the same. Details of the 2024 entries will be listed here as and when received.
Our thanks goes out to all those vehicle owners who brought their buses and coaches along, stall holders, Peak Rail for offering us this opportunity, the members of the public that attended, Nottingham City Transport & Trentbarton for producing our bus stop signs, Chris and Linda Elkin for manning the entrance gate and Mike Elkin of Portsmouth City Coaches for his help marshalling throughout the day.
